Happy Halloween Eve!

Good Morning everyone - ok, good afternoon!  Thanks for being patient with me, I've been a little pre-occupied with family stuff going on.  Everything is ok, it's just a few things that we have to deal with.  That's why I say I might be a little sporadic in my posting.

So ~ are you all ready for Halloween?  I am pretty much so.  There is a couple more things that I'd like to do - I'm not sure if I will get them taken care of or not, but I'll try.  Tomorrow we are going to carve our pumpkins.  Danielle wanted to do it last night because she is not here this evening, but I told her she had to wait.  She wanted to do it last night because we roast the seeds and she wanted some pumpkin seeds.  I was a little pooped with getting things together for her to take to school today and baking stuff for Ricky's work that I did not feel like roasting seeds too.  It will just have to wait til tomorrow.

I did get a couple of things made for the bazaar in a couple of weeks.  One thing that I like to do is make clipboards ~ and I've had a couple of the clear clipboards for a while now and I wondered how I could alter them.  Well right in the Angel Company catty there is a tutorial on how to cover a clear acrylic clipboard so I had to have a go at it.

This is the first one that I did.  I took it and cut the Summer Picnic DP to fit and adhered it to the back of the clipboard using Mod Podge.  I waited for it to dry then I added another coat to the BACK of it to protect the paper.  I let it sit overnight and then I added the ribbons to the clip and a pen that I added some matching paper to the inside of the barrel and I was done!

Same thing, just with DP from the Parisian Summer collection.

Tomorrow is a busy day, but I hope to post something for you!  Have a great afternoon and thanks for stopping by!

Can you believe it's hump day?

Wednesday already?  Honestly where does the time go?

Yesterday Betty stopped by and we did not really do anything major.  She made a few cards and I used some of her punches that I asked her to bring over.  Not really much getting done but that's fine.  It's nice to just sit and chat every now and then.  It's not like we have to do stuff all the time, although it's fun.

I wanted to show you a couple more of the CD holders that I made.  These are really fun to make.  Last night I had to go to the store and I found a huge pack of hot chocolate and I'm going to be filling these with that and some other "snowman soup" kind of goodies.  You don't have to use that, you can use anything ~ really the possibilities are almost endless.

The base is Chocolate Chip that I layered with Bashful Blue, Tangerine Tango and some Frosty  Day DP from SU last year.  I stamped the sentiment from The Angel Company in Pumpkin Pie ink and punched it out with my SU wide oval punch and layered it on to a piece of Bashful Blue that I punched out with my Super Scallop Oval punch.  I took my paper piercer and my white gel pen and did up the scallops a bit.  I adhered that and added the felt flower and foam snowflake with a crystal brad in the top corner and I was complete.

For this holder I used a green base and layered it with some Real Red, Dark Green and Dashing DP card stocks.  I stamped the sentiment from The Angel Company in Real Red ink and punched it out with my SU wide oval punch and layered it on to a piece of Dark Green cs that I punched out with my Super Scalloped Oval punch.  I took the white gel pen and paper piercer to the Dark Green layer to give it a little more pop before adhering it to the box.  I added a red felt flower to the lower left corner and a green felt flower and foam snowflake to the upper right corner and I was complete.

Over the next week or so I may or may not be here.  I have some family medical issues to deal with so I might be a little sporadic.  I hope that you all understand.  I hope that you all try this CD box out ~ they are really fun and they would be a fun gift to give a co-worker or friend.

Have a super great day!!

Good Monday Morning!

Howdy everyone, I hope that today finds you well and that you had a wonderful weekend.  The weather was great here.  Typical Fall weekend.

As I sit here and type poor Dixie is sleeping on the bed and she just rolled over and fell off.  Poor girl.  I think that it scared me just as much as it did her.

Let's get down to it ~ let's show some stuff...  Ready?  Of course!

Last year I made these boxes, we actually they are more like CD cases - they are from Lauren Meader and they are her Music Makeover boxes.  I made one for Danielle's bus driver and he loved it.  I put a hot cocoa pouch, marshmallows, candy kisses and a candy cane in them.  It's a neat little gift idea.  Well, I'm making them again and I've got a few to show you.  But for today you'll have to be happy with just two of them.

For this I used Pink Pirouette as a base and I layered on Riding Hood Red and some DP that I had from Heidi Grace called Jolly and Bright.  I used my SU wide oval punch and my super scallop oval punches for the sentiment that I stamped in Close to Cocoa ink on white cs.  I used my white gel pen and my paper piercer for the Riding Hood Red oval.  I added a felt flower from American Crafts and a prima with a crystal brad and I was done.  Cute huh?  I'd love to receive something like this!!

For this CD holder I used a Bashful Blue base that I layered with some Real Red cs, some textured Old Olive cs and some DP from SU! Ski Slope (last year I believe) collection. I just used my super scalloped oval punch to punch out the sentiment from The Angel Company's purchase with purchase stamp that I stamped off with Real Red ink.  I used my green gel pen on the scallops and my paper piercer also.  I had some foam snowflakes from a purchase at Walmart (years ago) and added a felt flower from American Crafts with a crystal brad and I was complete.

Do you like these?  I think that they are perfect for little gift items.  You can use them for hot cocoa, drink mixes, teas, CD's ~ anything small enough that you want to jazz up the packaging with.  I'm sorry that I can't post the directions - I purchased them last year from Papertrey Ink.  Lauren has lots and lots of templates there you can check out, take a peek

I hope you enjoyed today's post.  I will have a few more for you tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by and have a super great day!!

Giving Thanks

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope that today finds you well.  As I sit here typing this it is rainy and gloomy outside.  It's been so nice the past few days.  I've been outside a lot with the puppy the past few days and it's been very nice.  Just yesterday I was sitting out back on the deck watching her, reading my book and it was nice to look up and see all the different colors on the trees and bushes.  The lady bugs flying thru the air all around me and the nice breeze.  It was a truly wonderful fall day.  Now there is today, ugh.  Rainy, gloomy.  It's a great night for soup!!

Enough of that ~ wanna see a card?

Now this card looked a whole lot better in my head.  I had plans for it, but it just did not come out like I expected.  That's been happening a lot lately.

I stamped the image from Great Impressions and colored it in with my pencils and gamsol then cut it out with my CB and Large Label nestie and adhered it on to a piece of rust cs that I punched out with my Small Scallop Rectangle nestie.  The base card is Close to Cocoa that I added a piece of ivory cs that I ran thru the CB with my Autumn Type folder.  I also took my sponge and added some Ruby Red ink to the word 'thankfulness' at the top of the ivory panel.  Before I adhered the image panel to the card I added the leaf brad in the top corner - I wanted to cover up the back of the brad, I don't like to see things on the inside of my cards.  Once that was all adhered I added the sentiment from Paper Impressions (very old) that I stamped with my Big & Juicy Foliage stamp pad and I was complete.

Like I said, not what I had wanted but it's what I got.

I hope to be back tomorrow to show you some more.  With it being rainy outside I think that Dixie will not want to be out all day and play.  Have a great afternoon!!

My Bountiful Harvest

You know when you see a stamp and think "oh that will look nice" and it takes time to color it ~ then to just hack it away with your punch or die cut?  Yup, that's what I did with this stamp.  I was working on my Thanksgiving cards and I have this stamp by D.O.T.S. that is really cute.  I use it a lot.  It's a cornucopia filled with a harvest bounty and I colored it in with my pencils and gamsol.  Being careful to shade everything just right for Fall colors only to hack most of it away with one of my nesties...  Grrrr...

You cant even tell it's a cornucopia...  Oh well.  The thought was there.

I stamped the cornacopia from D.O.T.S. and colored it in with my pencils and gamsol then I cut it out with my Standard Circles small nestie and layered it on to a piece of More Mustard that I punched out with my Marvy Giga scalloped circle punch.  I set that aside and started to layer the card.  The base card is Ruby Red that I layered with Close to Cocoa and a piece of DP from Creative Imaginations Debbie Mumm Harvest collection.  I took a piece of rust colored ribbon and layered it on the left side of the card.  I then stamped the saying 'thanksgiving blessings' from Printworks in black ink and layered that on to a piece of Ruby Red cs.  I also stamped the leaf image by Alextamping with my Big and Juicy Foliage ink pad on to white cs and layered it on to a piece of Ruby Red cs.  I then took both of those layers and added them on top of the ribbon at the left.  I then pierced the holes around the scallop circle on my main image and used pop dots to add it to the card and I was complete.

I've got something else that I'm working on today that is Fall also.  I am having trouble getting to work on things with Dixie around.  She is in the exploring stage right now and wants out every 5 minutes.  I can't ignore her just in case she wants out to do her business.  We get outside and she just wants to play and explore.  She's really funny too!  She loves weeds.  Not to eat or anything, just to play with.  I told Ricky that we should get one of those cat toy's with the feather on the end of the stick to play with her, that's almost like the weeds.

Anyway ~ I hope to be back tomorrow to show you some more Fall inspiration!  Have a great day!

It's Digi Time!

I thought that I'd do another photo of Dixie.  She's grown so much it's not even funny.  When we got her she was only 4 pounds - we weighed her the night before last and she was 17 pounds.  In only a month.  So much for a little dog.

The other night Danielle was making something to take to school ~ she works in the daycare for a few hours during the day and she is always making something to take in.  Dixie was in the kitchen and this is what happened - flour everywhere.  She looked so cute that I had to snap the picture.  The elements are from Faith Sisters.

I hope this inspires you!  Have a great afternoon!

More guy stuff...

I know, where is the holiday stuff?  That's coming, really.  Yesterday was a bad day for me ~ I don't know why it was, it just was.  And of course the puppy was really irritating.  Maybe it was PMS, who knows.  I just had a bad day.  Unfortunately this is what came of it...

Stay with me here, I promise I will get to the more fun stuff.  Think of this as fillers Ü

I stamped the image from SU's Words by Wilson set and colored it in with my watercolor markers.  The base card is Garden Green and I layered it with Pumpkin Pie and some DP from the Spring Flowers collection.  I used my scallop border punch to add a little more to the card.  I also stamped the sentiment on white cs and layered it with a scrap piece of Pumpkin Pie to the inside and I was complete.

For this card I stamped the image from Words by Wilson and colored it in with my watercolors and markers.  I added a little touch of stickles to it for some pop.  The base card is Pacific Point that I layered with some Real Red and some very old SU! DP that I can not remember the name of.  I stamped the sentiment in black ink on the outside and inside and layered them on to some Real Red scraps that I had and I was complete.

I will try to come back later with some digi scrappin' if you like.  Let's say that I woke up on the "right" side of the bed today.  Have a great day!!

And Many Mower

What the heck, this isn't a holiday card??!  No, I know.  But I was in need of some "guy" cards to make and this is what I came up with.  Why the heck are guy cards so hard to make?  I think it's because of the no frills and such.  You don't want to jazz up a guy card with frilly, flowery stuff.  Oh well, here they are...

This card was made with the SU set Any Many Mower.  I stamped the image and colored it in with my pencils and gamsol.  I used my markers here and there to add some more color.  The base card is Garden Green that I layered with some Really Rust and some DP that I've had for YEARS from Provo Craft.  I know, I know... fish all day paper and this is golf?  I just liked the paper, it was manly...  I simply followed the card sketch from Splitcoast SCS225 and the card was done.  Very simple...

Again I used the SU set And Many Mower and colored it in with my pencils and gamsol with markers here and there.  The base card is Night of Navy that I layered with Really Rust and some DP from Provo Craft Americana collection.  I used my Designer Label Punch, Modern Label Punch & Word Window punch for the sentiment.  Once again Splitcoast came to my rescue and I used their sketch SC221

So that's what I have today for you.  Short and simple.  But I hope that it inspires you somewhat to make something.  The day is so pretty I want to go outside and read ~ but I know that I should be crafting.

Have a great one!!

Yum-my Mummy...

I just have to show you these little treat holders that Danielle made.  She works in the day care at her school for a few hours each day.  The teacher in there asks her to do activities with the kids and Danielle likes to make things for them too.  I can't remember if I've posted anything that she's made yet or not ~ but yesterday she made these.

Now you all know how to make these treat holders out of toilet tissue or paper towel rolls, right?  Well she wanted to make some that looked like mummy's.  I thought it was perfect too because I have a set from The Angel Company that says "Yummy Mummy" and it went well.

First she took the tissue rolls and cut them in half.  Then she ripped strips of white cs and inked the edges of them and then glued them to the roll.  For the bottom she punched out a scallop circle with the Marvy punch in Really Rust and glued the tissue holder down to it.  Then she stamped the sentiment "yummy mummy" from The Angel Company's Bone Appetit T-3216 cut the words apart and glued them to the piece of Really Rust.  She stamped the mummy from The Angel Company set Trick or Treaters T-2795 and lightly colored it with a pencil then glued it on to the tag then attached it to the treat holder.

The only thing I would of made different was the inside of the treat holder ~ I  think that I would of covered it, but hey that's just me.  I am going to fill these for her today.  They are for little one's - toddler age so we got some goldfish crackers for them.  Kinda cute, huh?

I wanted to show you Danielle's project today.  If you have any questions just ask.  Have a super great day!

Wanna iPod Touch?

I know you do...  If you do - run quickly to Amy's blog Living Locurto and her post HERE for the iPod Touch.  How cool would that be to win?  There is so many gagets on that I don't know if I'd get anything done - I'd be like Danielle and always have it in my hand.

So run, run quickly.  Her blog candy ends tonight.

Happy Friday!!

Good morning everyone!  It's Friday, yippie!!  Maybe this weekend I'll get some sleep time in.  With this new puppy I've been limited on sleep hours.  Usually when hubby get's up to go to work I sleep for a couple more hours in the living room.  Not with the puppy around ~ I'm trying to rest with one eye closed and one eye open on her.  At least I can keep my fingers crossed ~ can't I?

Here's another card that I finished using the Best Fiends set.  I just love the oranges, purples, greens and black for Halloween colors.  These cards are so fun to make.

I stamped the image from Best Fiends and colored it in with my pencils and gamsol.  The base card is Tangerine Tango that I layered with paper I got in a pack from Big Lots.  I used some sheer purple organdy ribbon and then some darker purple grosgrain over the top in the center of the card.  I stamped the sentiment 'happy fright night' and layered it on to the card with pop dots and I was done.  It was a quick and simple one.

I hope to be back later with some digital pages.  Have a great afternoon!!

Someone asked for...

Someone asked me if I had posted the template for the coffins yet ~ and yes I have.  It is here in this post.
I also have it in PDF form if you'd like to e-mail me I can send it to you.  For some reason blogger won't let me upload it.

If there is ever anything that you'd like that I post and don't have directions to just ask.  I'd be happy to send info to you.

Have a great evening!!

Happy almost Friday!

Well today was the ST day of the season that the heater went on.  There is more than a chill in the air, it's down right cold out there.  I had to take Danielle to the doctor yesterday and she said "I can see my breath" it was that chilly.  Just makes me want to make a cup of cocoa and sit and make Christmas cards.  But wait, I still need to work on Halloween and Thanksgiving first!!

I have another Halloween card for you to see.  I loved it  when SU came out with Best Fiends.  I thought that set was so cute.  It's hard to find Halloween images.  I like the fun kind, not the scary kind.  And this one with Frankie is adorable.

Once again I'm sorry for the picture.  I really think that it's how the weather is.  It's been kinda gloomy outside for a couple of days and since my craft room is all full of windows it effects my picture taking.

The set I used is called Best Fiends and I stamped the image and colored it in with my pencils and gamsol.  The base card is Basic Black that I layered with some DP from daisy d's and scrap ease and some light purple textured cs.  I used my Marvy giga scallop circle punch, my SU scallop circle punch and my 1 3/8" circle punch on this card.  The ribbon is from a spool of rick rack that I picked up at Walmart once.  I used some gel pens here and there on the card and I was complete.

I hope to get in the craft room today but I'm not too sure.  The puppy has been a little monster this morning.  Then of course after her rein of terror she went to sleep peacefully.  Now that I want to do something in the craft room she's going to be at it again, I just know it.  She's teething right now and all she wants to do is bite.  The vet said to freeze carrots and give them to her to chew on ~ the problem is she eats them in a matter of minutes!!  Ugh, I know.  I wanted a puppy and I knew it was coming.  I just wish that we could fast forward a year and see...

Have a great day!  Stop back in, I'll be back tomorrow...

Have a spooky good day!

Halloween!!  Yippie, only 17 more days!!  Woo-Hoo!!  You know I love that day!
And it seems that the weather is playing tricks on us.  I can remember back in California on year it was warm, one year it was cold, once it rained.  I never knew how to dress Danielle up.  Well the same can be said here ~ although the weather changes so fast here.  They are actually calling for snow this Friday night/Saturday morning.  I'm sure that it wont stick if it does, but really?  Snow in October?  What the heck is going on?!?  Personally (on no, look out ~ I'm on the soap box) I think that we've all messed with our ozone layer so much that we are doing this to ourselves.  We really need to take care of this world because it might not be here for our family to come.

Ok - I'm off of the soap box now.  Whew, that was a quick one...

How about a card?  I must first say sorry for the picture - my last two pictures that I've taken have not turned out too well.  It could be the weird weather we are having (remember all the windows in my craft room?) or I just need a new camera.  Maybe a little of both...  This picture almost looks cartoon like, so sorry.

My base card is Tangerine Tango that I layered with some dark purple DP and some DP by Pressed Petals.  I stamped the image from SU! Haunting Halloween and colored it in with my pencils and gamsol.  I also used some glitter pens for a little sparkle.  I added some ribbon and a piece of DP from an old SU! Halloween pack (I don't remember the name) before I added the image to the card.  For a finishing touch I added a flower that Mom made with her orange and black thread, using a crystal brad in the middle.  The inside I stamped the sentiment and I was complete.

Short and sweet.  I'm going to try another card this afternoon as long as the puppy let's me.  She's been into everything the past couple of days.  I knew it when I got her - but she's worth it.

Have a great day!  See you back tomorrow!

Sleigh Bells Ring??!

Yup, I'm in Christmas mode.  Well, not really ~ but I've got a few cards done for Christmas already.  Now I need to get my rear in gear and work on some Halloween.  I still have to finish those.

I just cant believe that Christmas is really close at hand.  I've got to start thinking about shopping.  Oh, I'm always thinking about shopping Ü but I need to stop thinking and just do it.  Where the heck did the year go anyway??

I try to steer clear of the traditional red and green Christmas colors - they are over used.  But I thought that this one came together quite well.

The base card is Riding Hood Red and I layered it with some dark green card stock I've had and white that I ran thru the cuttlebug with the snowflakes folder.  I stamped the image from Sleigh Bells Ring and colored it in with my watercolor crayons and some markers here and there.  I took my designer label punch and punched out a piece of Riding Hood Red card stock and then my 1 3/8" circle punch and punched a piece of the dark green card stock.  I layered those together and then added the sentiment that I stamped in Handsome Hunter over the top of it.  On the inside I layered some of the same papers and stamped Merry Christmas from Seasons Greetings in Handsome Hunter.  Once I added a few stickles to the front of the card I was complete.

So wadda ya think?  Christmas-y?  I think so.  Even though the scene is a little busy when you use the watercolors to color images I think that it goes fast.  This would be an easy card to make a bunch of.

Hubby's working today so I'm just blog hopping and puppy watching.  I will work on some stuff and be back either tomorrow or Monday.  Have a great weekend!

It's Digi Time!

It's been a long time since I've made a digital page that I thought the time was right.  Of course with a new puppy I've got lots of pictures.

I made this with papers and embellishments from Scrapwow, it is their Tranquility collection.

I hope these inspire you somehow.  I'll be back tomorrow!  Have a great evening.

A quick little post

How sweet is this?  My dear friend Betty made a card for Dixie.  As I mentioned the other day she had some type of allergic reaction and we had to take her to the vet in the middle of the night.  Poor thing was so swollen in the face.  I was a little scared for her breathing, but all is well now.

But yesterday I got this card in the mail from Betty.  It was for Dixie.  I think that is so sweet.  She knows how much this little girl means to me.

Be back later with more ~ I'm working on a digi page.  It's been a long time since I've made one of those.

I want to share with you

I want to share with you some pictures of the cards we made last weekend at the SCS shoebox swap we went to.  The theme was to make a Fall/Halloween card (my favorite!!).  I should of shared these sooner but I've been busy cleaning the craft room and moving things around a bit.  When I get in a moving and re-arranging mood it always ends up with everything in the middle of the room and me saying "no that wont work" quite a few times.

Here is some of the pictures.  The cards are just so cool!  It's so neat to see how many different styles come together .  Everyone had their own way of doing things - it's really fun to gather like this and make the cards.  So many ideas flowing, it's great!!

I love all of the cards, but there was one in particular that grabbed my fancy.  Only because I don't use my Cricut hardly at all.  Mostly just for letters, but this is great!  Now I need the cartridge!!

That tree!  I LOVE that tree.  It is one of the paper dolls cartridges I believe.

All the cards are wonderful!  I hope that they inspire you in some way.  I know they have for me.  I'll be back later with more to look at!  Have a great afternoon!

Good Afternoon!

Today is a beautiful day!  Hubby brought the car home so I could take Danielle to take her driving test again.  Let's just say we will not talk about that.  But running around town, it's just so nice out.  The leaves on the trees are changing and there is a crispness in the air.  It is just wonderful!  I think this weekend I need to break out the fall and Halloween decorations ~ and it's time to pick out the pumpkins!!

Are you ready for a card?  Well - here goes...

This card was made with my SU! set called Frosty.  I love snowmen, and this is one of my favorite all time sets.

The base card is Pacific Point that I layered with a piece of white cs that I stamped with Ballet Blue and Bashful Blue inks.  I used my large label and my small scallop rectangle nesties to cut out the layers.  The large label was cut out with some miscellaneous dark blue card stock that I had.  I added a little piece of organdy ribbon and the from was complete.  Inside I layered a piece of dark blue card stock with a piece of white and stamped the sentiment from an old foam D.O.T.S. set in Real Red ink and I was complete.

I think that I need to start getting in the holiday mode.  Last year I was not in the mood too much ~ but seeing those trees with the changing colors I think may of did it for me.  Time for scented pinecones and apple cider.

Have a great afternoon!

Thanks for being patient with me

Thanks for being patient with me, I really appreciate it.  The past couple of weeks have me just beat!  I knew that getting a new puppy would be work ~ it's not that.  We had the craft fair weekend before last.  That was Saturday and Sunday.  Then you come home and if you are not lucky enough to have everything sold then you've got to put it away.

My craft room was a disaster for a few days.  I really did not want to touch anything in there.  But I finally put it all away for safe keeping till November when we said that we'd do it all over again!  This time it is inside.

This was taken actually at the end of the fair.  We had to put up the sides on the tent because there was rain on Saturday ~ but Sunday brought the winds.  Then the fair organizer's brought hay around for those who needed it because of the mud.  Of course we had to buy it too!  This is 2 bales of hay.  It was very muddy.  I lost one tin because it dropped and got all covered with mud.  Some of my cards fell too in the wind, but they were ok because I had the clear plastic jackets on them.

This was my table.  Cool rack huh?  We found that at the local Peddler's Mall for only $5.00!!  I was so excited!!  We brought it home and Ricky put these little boards on there and wire them down so I could put my cards on it.  He had to tie little strings across it so the wind would not catch the cards and blow them away.

This was Betty's table.  Look at all the coasters that she did.  They turned out really great!!  Lot's of great stuff, huh?!

We did get some pointers from another lady who was at the festival.  She and her family were so nice.  They kept coming back with more to say and some really great suggestions.  Not to mention that their booth was polka dotted (I loved it!!!).

Then last weekend Dixie decided to give us a scare.  She went out potty in the middle of the night and when she came back in she was not herself.  She kept scratching at her ears and shaking her head.  We stayed up with her and then finally about 3:30 in the morning we ended up calling the vet and going on a midnight run to Lexington.  They don't know if it is allergies or if a spider bit her ~ but her eyes and muzzle started to swell up.  They gave her a shot and she's on benadryl for a few days.  Knock on wood she seems better.  I had plans on Sunday posting here - but the lack of sleep caught up with me.  I'm no spring chicken, remember...

This is a few days old.  She's actually grown so much in the 2 weeks that we've had her.  She went from 4 pounds to 9.8 in 2 weeks.  So much for the little dog I wanted.  But I will cherish her anyway.

I am going to be working in the craft room today to get things completely put away and actually move a few things.  I do have a couple of things that I can post that I've not posted yet.  But I promise that tomorrow you will have something craft related and none of my blah blah blah...

Thanks again!  Have a great day!
